First incident two days ago

I was standing at my kitchen counter doing dishes, I felt a severe period cramp and the next thing I know, I am on the floor. My kids standing over me asking if I am okay. This has never happened to me before. What should I do? The ER said it was a "vagal reaction."

What does this mean?
