I just discovered this site. I have had episodes of vasovagal (although just diagnosed!) since I was a teenager. I am over 50 now. Being very knowledgeble about human body and diseases, it has been frustrating. All my life, I have kept normal weight, lowfat nutritious diet, exercise. Symptoms have always been: sudden light headedness, drop in bp and heart rate (most recent recent episode heart rate 40 and bp 70/40. Ambulance technician's readings), sweaty, severe pain (below chest, above belly button). I have fainted only twice in all these years, but did NOT know that I was going to faint. Anyway, ER trip, 3 days in the hospital, ekg, CTscan, MRI, cardiac enzymes, blood work...everything was fine, so diagnosis was VVS. Doctor's advice: don't miss any meal, keep well hydrated. My reason for posting this is that I was shocked to see very young children with VVS. Good luck to all.
