neurocardiogenic syncope

Does any one know what the difference is between neurocardiogenic syncope and vaso vagal syndrome? My family Dr. said I had vaso vagal syndrome and sent me to a cardiologist who did a tilt table test. I lasted 20 minutes in the standing position and suddenly felt nauseated and then passed out. My heart rate dropped to the high 30's. He said I did not have vaso vagal, I had neurocardiogenic syncope which is an electrical problem with the heart. After reading in this forum, it all sounds the same. Is this a serious condition? Is this anything that will shorten a life? Is this something that is inherited? If anyone has these answers, would you please help. I have not been back to my Dr. yet. He put me on florinef and I go back in two weeks. Thanks, Joan- my email is joan@conninc.com
