vasovagal syndrome

i am 18 years old and last year, i started having fainting episodes around christmas time...at first, i was too scared and frightened about the situation to address it, but as it progressed and happened more often, i decided it was time to do something about this...i found myself fainting at school and just not feeling like myself...i always felt shakey, and continued getting the same symptoms everytime an episode occured...first the extreme nausea...then loss of hearing and sight...cold sweats...drop in blood pressure...etc...i went to the doctor and had many tests done on every medical aspect of my body and through an ekg found an unusual disruption...then, i was advised to do the tilt test...which proved that i had vasovagal syndrome...

my family and i didnt know why this occured to me out of no where but my dad brought up the fact that my grandmother (his mom) fainted like that all the time, and when she went to the hospital, they could never find anything wrong with her...im not sure that it is fully genetic, but i have made my own assumptions that it is....

just thought i would share my story on this...if anyone has interesting information or just wants to chat about it...please email me
