I have a few long posts on this site as I tried to control episodes. I am 48 male sufering one or two episodes a year. I had another one about August 2004 and it was not fun. After five years I finally took my doctor and cardiologist advice and had a pacemaker put in a month ago-10hour hospital visit. My heart rate is now 60 instead of 45. Lightheadedness is virtually gone and life is back to normal running and playing hockey 2-3 times a week. Today I had to leave a meeting at work feeling "greyed out" in periphereal visoin and mental ability. Very unusual feeling. No episode though!!!! Took the rest of the day off after visiting my doctor and not feeling quite right.

This web site is not a substitute for a thorough medical evaluation and diagnosis of your vaso-vagal type symptoms.  Medical treatment and diagnosis is the only acceptable initial response to these serious symptoms since they might present from any number of life threatening and treatable illnesses. It is for you and your physician to rule out more serious illnesses; Please don't use this online forum as an alternative to getting responsible medical attention and being under the care of a physician for the duration of any unknown, suspected or dangerous vaso-vagal syndrome symptoms.
