Hi, After much trial and error, I have found that surgery has been perfectly safe and normal as long as I don't feel anything. My nervous system isn't agitated because I get anesthesia intravenously. I let the nurses, docs, etc. know right away and they take care to be sure I don't pass out. I don't get anesthesia via injections anymore- just IV's. And they always put me out. In recovery, I start to pass out and can control it by breathing evenly and putting my legs up. It helps the blood get back to the heart. The best thing is to talk to your doctors and nurses so they can prepare. Take care and good luck! Tara
