I have always suffered from fainting episodes since I was a small child, but as I got into my early twenties I appeared to be fainting more frequently. After much investigation and finally a tilt table test, I was diagnosed with malignant vaso-vagal syndrome at the age of 26. It appeared that everytime I fainted my heart was actually stopping. I was taken into hospital the following week and fitted with a pacemaker, I have not suffered any more attacks and I am now 33 years old. I am, however, pregnant so no doubt there are new experiences ahead! Has anybody given birth with a pacemaker?
