My daughter was recently diagnosed with Vaso-Vagal. She has all of the classic symptoms -- Very athletic, eats healthy foods. Symptoms include: severe headaches, stomach cramps, will see spots before her vision fades to black, face becomes pale (almost gray), cold and clammy to the touch. She was under the care of several different cardiologist and neurologist, but all test come back negative for any physical complications. She is currently taking medication generally used to treat depression/anxiety (Lexapro?), which seemed to help for the first month. The symptoms are coming back, and seem to be progressively worse. Her primary physician is going to try a new medication (Simbalta), but my patience are running short. PLEASE HELP if you have any suggestions on how to treat this illness. Does anyone know if this illness is fatal?

This web site is not a substitute for a thorough medical evaluation and diagnosis of your vaso-vagal type symptoms.  Medical treatment and diagnosis is the only acceptable initial response to these serious symptoms since they might present from any number of life threatening and treatable illnesses. It is for you and your physician to rule out more serious illnesses; Please don't use this online forum as an alternative to getting responsible medical attention and being under the care of a physician for the duration of any unknown, suspected or dangerous vaso-vagal syndrome symptoms.
