For me the legs uo works because I need to get the blood circulation back to the head. I am usually on the rug with my legs propped up on the bed. Sometimes it's just lots of pillows on the floor. Nothing too awkward. Obviously it's different for different people. That's the most immediate thing I do. I drink water or gatorade as soon as I am able to - sometimes a little difficult when you are lying down but necessary because you get dehydated, especially if you've been to the bathroom beforehand.
Longterm it's knowing when your symptoms are coming so you do not panic, plenty of relaxing techniques (there was a lady who wrote that she sang songs when she pulled over in her car - whatever works). For me I have long periods (like months) without any symptoms but I know that's not true for everyone.
