How serious is VV?

I remember passing out for the first time when I was seven years old. I'm 22 now. I pass out easily, and I can usually predict when I'm going to pass out. It's just something I've always had to deal with. As a child, I never saw a "real doctor." My family was poor, and we usually sought medical attention at the local health department. I just visited a family doctor for the first time last after being brought to the ER for passing out. He told me I have VV. He didn't tell me much about it, just to look it up on the Internet. How serious is VV?
