You could try looking at http://www.stars.org.uk they have a lot of information on vasovagal syncope, and I know they also produce a leaflet for you to give to your sons school (which I imagine would be most helpful!).
You can also ask the person who runs it, Trudie questions. She is very friendly and helpful.
