I began VV episodes around 12 years ago. The attacks came in the middle of the night and included anxiety, then severe sweating, a feeling of needing to pass out. As time passed they went away, occurring only occasionally. Recenty, I have experience the falling sensation when I am asleep. It is so bad it awakens me. I roll over try to go back to sleep, then it happens again. Sometimes I have to prop my head upright to stop them. Next day, my body feels similar to the way it feels after the usual VV attack--very much like I have been ill with a stomach virus or similar malady. It passes in about 24 to 48 hrs. It is a mystery to me.
