Severe chest pains

My 15 year daughter was diagnosed with vv about 3 years ago. She is usually aware when an episode is about to occur by the normal symptoms - dizzyness, tunnel vision, shortness of breath, etc. Yesterday we were at an amusement park. It was a very hot day and we had been walking in the sun for quite a while. My daughter began to experience shortness of breath and severe chest pains. She passed out briefly, but I was able to catch her before she hit the ground. Even after coming to she still experienced very painful chest pains for about 30 minutes. We got her to the first aid office where they gave her Poweraid. To be honest, I thought she was having a heart attack. Even today she says her chest is still sore, although it does not hurt anything like it did during the attack. I took her to her doctor today, an EKG was done and everything appeared to be normal. Has anyone ever experienced chest pains such as these?
