Heart "Stop" in Vasa Vagal?

My mom has had 2 episodes in just over a year that the Dr's now say is VV. Both episodes happened in church and there were doctors there (this time her own doctor was there). They say that her heart stopped. No CPR was performed or anything -- and they say it started back on it's own. Did it stop, or was the pulse just so faint that they couldn't find it? She feels just fine when she "comes to" and I would think that if her heart actually stopped she would feel poorly or the tests on her heart would show some damage?
