My GP has narrowed my problem down to nerves ( vagal) so I have been referred to Internal medicine. I have went thru stress test, catherization, upper & lower GI's and bloodwork with no problems found. I am on levbid before I eat and Xanax .25mg when I have symptoms of an attack coming on. Xanax stops the sensations in my chest area completely. My problem started in Feb 2004 when my ENT injected lidicaine mixed with something else for a procedure. When he ijected me my heart felt like it was going to jump out of my chest and my arms started flapping on their own. That night I felt like someone had hit my chest bone from the inside and I had to go to er 3 times that week. Third visit they put me on levbid and xanax and that controls/ stops episodes once they start but I am looking to stop them from happening. I am 40 years old. I will bring up the tilt table test with my Internal medicine doctor before they start all other kinds of tests. I am just a little scared to have it done due to responses of some of this forums members. It looks like a beta blocker works for some but from rading I can't take my present med's with a beta blocker.
