From: me
I have a similar situation. I was dx'ed at 5 with seizures. Thru out I've tried anti-epileptic meds to no avail; they actually increased the episodes. I am now 48 and just finding this board. I am convinced they are not seizures, but VVS. I get horrific pain in my abdomen, get so hot I remove all clothing, followed by sycope where I go unconscious, stiffen like a board and eyes roll back in my head..I sometimes lose urinary control..and when I come to...then I get diarrhea and vomiting. However...over the years I've learned to get my head down practically standing on my head and pray and fight and I don't go out, but still get very dizzy with tunnel vision and very sick. If I eat cereal EVERY day or take a fiber supplement, I can go at least a year without an episode. I used to have them at least once a month. Also, when I started to feel the cramps (which I can tell from regular gas or consipation pains because VV pain feesl much like labor pains!!) I tried an anti-spasmotic, loke Donnatol(?) and it aborted the whole episode. This leads me to believe that my intestines and/or stomach is having spasms which affects the VV nerve and drops blood pressure. I hate taking meds but I hate those episodes worse. I feel like I'm going to die...or want to die!! It's awful!
