No I have not tried beta blockers. I take Levsin before each meal ( it is usppose to cut down on upper gatro problems that would trigger a problem) and then if I do feel the symptoms I take one .25mg Xanax which seems to help regulate the BP and heart rate. But if the episodes start again I will try beta blockers. My ER doctor ( after 3 visits in one week) started the levsin and Xanax and gas-x and so far when having an episode within 15 to 20 minutes it has passed. I also see a chiropractor and trying to make sure I go more often. I had a back injury years ago and I sit in front of a computer all day and I get alot of tension in my shoulder blades and neck. I use to take Atarax to sleep at night and I can no longer take that. I sarted waking up with episodes after sleeping a few hours. I cannot advil or motrin, I have which to Tylenol if I have a headache or pain. It doesn't work as good but better than nothing. I'm not big on taking med's but at the same time do not want this problem to rule my life and keep me from working, playing with my 4 year old, or working around my home and outside. So far since Dec 2003 ( when first episode started) I noticed that outside work or heavy duty work has not been a problem. I just make sure I stay well hydrated.
