Relief from vaso-vagal episodes

Hi, I used to suffer quite a lot from vaso-vagal episodes. It went through quite a few doctors with no success or diagnosis. Finally, when I went to live in France (I'm Irish) I saw a doctor who said it was "lipothymie" or lipothymia, in English, he also described what I had as vaso-vagal syncopes. Up until the dawn of the internet I didn't know what this diagnosis meant, but now I know he was exactly right.

Anyway, what I wanted to say was, I found a way of easing the symptoms, if I feel an episode coming on. A yoga instructor recommended it to me. It's really simple and harmless. All you do is squeeze your little fingers alternately. For me it really works.

Can I ask, has anyone found how these incidences begin? Are they drug induced? Are they hereditory?
