Thank you for the Vaso-Vagal article. It is a strange affliction, and I had no idea what it was until I spoke with a "nurse on call" who didn't seem real interested. I've had the condition for years, and since there is no way to predict when it will strike, it's a very difficult condition to live with. My episodes usually coincide with the start of a bad intestinal episode. I don't want to be graphic, but I usually have these spells in the bathroom which feature: Enormous intestinal pain, profuse sweating, swooning, and finally fainting when the pain is too much to take. Once I was taken to the hospital for this (after fainting) so it is to be taken seriously. This started as an adolescent boy, and now at 38, I still fear when the next attack might take place. The only thing good about it is that since the intestinal process is slow at first, I can usually find a bathroom in time for the episode, but that is the ONLY thing on the plus side of this. What we (Vaso-Vagal) sufferers need is something that can prevent the attacks since (like I said) you never know when an attack will hit you.
