I am a 41 year old female with high blood pressure. I was having dental work done last weekend when I noticed my fingers were tingling. Then my heart started racing and pounding. I tried to calm myself down but it didn't help. I began to perspire and then I grabbed the dentists arm because I was losing consciousness. He sat me up, gave me water and put cold compresses on my head. I also began having chest pains and a hard time breathing. The rest of the day I felt weak and tired. My heart was still racing hours after the incident. I actually asked a friend to call later because if I didn't slow down I was going to go to the ER. My doctor is seeing me tomorrow and wants to do a full blood workup, EKGs and ECHO's to make sure I am ok. My father died suddenly at 46 from a heart attack.
