Lips turning blue are a sign of lack of oxygen- Vaso-vagal, I was told, is a lack of oxygen to the brain, which causes the brain to short-circuit, so to speak, and makes you pass out. It is the trigger machanism that is different for each person. Some it is the sign of blood, some it is too much drinking, which causes lack of the "proper" liquide and dehydration. I would be concerned that the blue lips are a sign that the epsiodes are longer than normal, as I have not been told my episodes cause that. Mine only last about a minute, I am told.
