I too experience what you have described. My VV episodes started about 6 months ago. I would feel an intense stomach cramp, feel like I have to go to the bathroom, while sitting on the toilet my hands and feet begin to itch and go numb, I get very hot, feel very ill and feel as though I'm going to pass out, finally ending up laying on the floor until it passes. It would only happen once a month and around the same time of the month. My doctor said that it could have an hormonal trigger. I was eating soy everyday (I'm a vegetarian) and decided to stop since I had heard about some problems with soy. This is the first month that I did not have an episode in the past 7 months. I just wanted you to know that you are not alone. Before I found out about vaso-vagal I thought I had something very seriously wrong with me because I literally felt like I was dying when the episodes occurred. From what I understand there can be several triggers. The next step is to try to figure that out. Maybe certain foods, certain times of the month (I've also heard that menopause can bring this on), particularly stressful situations. Hang in there. I'm glad you found this discussion board. Just knowing what these episodes are has helped me immensely.
