vaso-vagal after childbirth

From: gina

Comments

i have fainted three times, for no apparent reason in the past four years, and my doctor, after doing extensive test, diagnosed these spells as vaso-vagal. the most recent spell was immediately after the birth of my son. i was holding him in my arms on the delivery table and suddenly had shortness of breath, loss of hearing and tunnel vision. i had to hand my son over to my husband while i breathed into a bag. my ob/gyn also diagonsed this as vaso-vagal. i would like to get pregnant again, but am worried about delivery triggering another vaso-vagal response. any advice or similar stories?
