Hi, I am a police officer in Vermont. On March 3, 2004 I was on my way to the police academy for training when I began having chest pains running from my left shoulder to the middle of my chest and became light headed. The other officer that was with me took over the driving duties and drove me to the local hospital. Once there the ER staff started treating me for a heart attack. Suddenly my stomach felt ill and I got really light headed. I began to passout. The staff titled the bed I was on backward to force blood into my brain. My heart rate dropped from 120 to 28 in 12 seconds and my blood pressure went in the the toilet.
The end result was a stay overnight in the ICU. I was diagnoised with Vaso Vagal syndrom. The chest pains were caused by 24 years of stress as a cop. Anyway I have a stess test set for next Wednesday as a followup to this whole thing. Has anyone else every had an attack as result of stress?
