12 year old with vaso vagal

I daughter, almost 13, immediately after inserting a tampon (first time attempt), she fell to the ground, couldn't breath, felt numb, threw up, turned a color I have never seen before (her lips were almost blue). I called my ob/gyn (didn't think the pediatrician was appropriate)...they talked to me about VV....it makes perfectly good sense to me....my daughter thought she had TSS, so, I do think that her mind (after reading the literature in the tampon box) caused her body to over-react. Just a thought.
