Vaso Vagal During GYN Exam - anyone know anything?

I have known I am VV for years, since I was 10. Am now 26 year old married woman. Only two things trigger them for me (1) extreme pain and (2) GYN exams. It's horrible - every time I go in for my annual I have one (complete w/ minor seizing, loss of bladder control, etc). It scares me and doctors to death. The only thing that has ever worked is drinking a couple of beers before going (I know - don't laugh). Has anyone ever experienced similiar? Anyone have any suggestions, comments?
