I am a 26 year old woman. I have known I have VVS for years, and have had many episodes (first was while pulling a tooth at the age of 10). Only two things trigger them for me (1) extreme pain and (2) a GYN exam. I hate it - every time I go to the gynecologist for an annual exam, I have an episode (get very hot, pass out, bite tounge, eyes roll back, sometimes lose bladder control, bp drops very low, a bit of minor seizing). I hate the feeling and even though I feel much better afterwards, it is a little scary. The only thing that has ever worked for me is having a bit of alcohol before going (I know, don't laugh!). I truly don't know how I will ever have a child. It's not like the exam even hurts - for all the women reading this though, you know how it is - just a "different" feeling. Has anyone experienced anything similiar or have any suggestions (other than drinking a beer or two) before going in. It scares the doctors to death and I hate having them.
