vasal vagal syncope

I have vasal vagal syncope and take paxil cr. Since I have been taking this, I have not had any occurances. My question is that I have been told by doctors that no one has ever died from having this syncope, only from falling and hurting themselves. It gets very scary as I feel I am going to die if I dont get someone to observe me when this happens.I live alone and wonder if this is safe when I feel it coming on to just lay down and let it happen?
