I did find an interesting site a couple of weeks ago but went to locate it and couldn't find it. I'll keep looking. It was a good overall explanation by a doctor. The causes are varied, some are heart related but many are not. What I found reassuring because I was having so many near episodes recently (and used just have one and years would go by before another) was that it is often comes in waves and then subsides (and low and behold I haven't had one in a few days. Is this psychological? Who cares?). Also, so many syncopes are avoidable because one gets warning signs. Get low to the floor so you don't hurt yourself falling and get your legs propped up. I also have some gatorade and water handy for a little pick me up as soon as I feel I can get it down me.
