Re: Vasovagal reaction and dreamlike state

I am so relieved to know other people have experienced this feeling. I have been having these episodes since I was about 12 years old. I get the tunnel vision and I know when it's coming. The dreamlike state is by far the scariest part to me. I've tried to describe it to people, but I don't feel like they can understand the feeling or the fear it causes when you feel it coming on. My "dream-like state" has always been the same. I'm usually falling through this grey and black background really slowly. I can feel myself losing control, but can't do anything about it. The scariest part is that I can almost hear myself screaming "no!" trying to get back control, but I can't.

My most recent episode was at the gym during my morning workout with a trainer. I wasn't short of breath or anything. I'd eaten a good breakfast and I wasn't fatigued at all. I suddenly just felt it coming on. I had time to lie down, but once I passed out, I was out for 3 to 4 minutes. That's the longest it's ever lasted.

I've read where several people have suggested to learn what triggers the attacks so you can be prepared. I can't seem to pinpoint mine. They've happened in all sorts of circumstances.

Does anyone else experience these episodes in a variety of situations?
