Two days ago I heard my 4mo baby cough in his sleep, I walked in to check on him and he was vomiting. I immediately sat him up and cleared his airway. I then noticed he was extremely pale and limp and his head felt cold. I attempted to stimulate him and he would start to pink up but he continued to gag and vomited a large amount of mucus. He became pale and limp once more. He responded to my voice but could not seem to hold his head up and he had no color in his face or his head. I took him to the ER and while we waited he did begin to regain his color and became alert although his temperature was 35.8C rectally. His chest xray was fine so his doctor thinks he may have had a vagal response to the vomiting. Has anyone had the same experience and could that have caused the hypothermia?
