I have been experiencing black-outs since I was about 30 and am now 54. The first one happened when I was bathing my 3 year old and a strange feeling of dejavu like an auroa came over me which gave me enough warning to lie down. When I aawoke I still had some of the strange dejavu/aauroa feeling and felt week and also the urge to evacuate my bowels. Usually these episodes would happen 2 -3 times a year but have decreased. I have not had one now in 3 years. I was evaluated by a neuorlogist who did eeg, eks's echo cardiograms, MRI, halter heart moniitor, blood pressure check (which was fine). They usallly happened when I was in a relaxed moor. Twice on two different occasions it happended in the same restaurant when I was when my boyfriend (now husband) and once at work but never while driving. Because of this I developed agoraphobia which made me unable to drive and avoid large open spaces. I am taking Klnopin and Celexa which have helped a lot but I still keep waiting (though I don't think about it as much) for another occurence. The docotr's could find nothing wrong as far a brain activity, heart problems. I would love to hear of someone else who has had the same experience becaause I know of no one besides myself that has.
