Vaso-Vagal Syndrome

My 18 year old son fainted while having blood drawn at he doctor's office for mono testing. He appeared to have "seizures" during the 5 - 10 minutes he was incoherent. He clenched his fists, shook his body with his eyes rolled back in his head and made a loud snorting noise. He was taken by ambulence to the ER where they did a cat scan and diagnosed him with Vaso-Vagal Sydrome. This has never happened before, and I am scared that it could happen again. Could it have been anxiety about not feeling well and then having blood drawn and that maybe this will be an isolated incident? Is this syndrome commmon in teenagers? If anyone has any input, you can e-mail me at Buffmom862@hotmail.com. Thank you.
