My episodes happen almost exclusively at night -- woken from deep sleep by nausea, stomach cramps, and intense light-headed feeling. The sweats, shaking, tunnel vision, vomiting, diareah, and fainting happen after I get up to go to the bathroom.
The medical community has been of no help over the years -- ER dr. confirmed V-V, but could only say "don't get up if you feel faint". <sigh>
I take no meds anymore. I've found that breathing deeply (in thru nose, out thru mouth), pumping my legs (to get blood pressure up), cool air (turning up ceiling fan on high), and staying as calm as possible can lessen the severity of the symptoms at the start. Doing all that has even stopped the attacks before they get too far.
