Re: Daughter aged 5 diagnosed with Vaso-Vagal Reaction

From: Lee UK  or hotmail .com

The mistake I made was that I allowed the local doctor to tell me there was nothing wrong when I had my first few episodes between ages 7- 11 yrs old. I however always knew the trigger, before I realised there was a problem? Almost 20 yrs later I finally found a doctor in the UK who actually wanted to get to the root of the problem. Until 12 months ago I'd never heard of Vaso Vagal, orNeurallly mediated syncope which it turned out was my condition. I know from seeing other doctors, they would be very concerened that your daughter passed out in a reclined position, as this is not normal. I can't offer any other help other than to try to find out if your daughter knows the trigger as I did. If I thought about or was exposed to anything medical, in particular operations / internal organs I flaked out. This happened around 20 times atl east that I remember. It transpires that what I was actually doing was Flatlining, going into seizure, and then somehow waking up a little worse for ware. Having viewed this website many times, I realise there are many forms of this condition and the ones you state may be nothing to do with what I have. However , waking up on the floor with your head bruised or bleeding I can associate with. Also at school it became worse as I felt like everyone knew about my condition and therefore expected me to pass out. Good luck. Having gone through it and now taken steps to stop it happening again, I know how useful this site was to me when the fuutre seemed very bleak. Please contact me should you have any questions..
