After passing out and vomiting during a painful outpatient procedure today, I finally got a name for what I've always known was wrong with me: Vaso-Vagel syncope. I always thought I was just "doing it to myself", you know, that I was just being a baby when it came to needles and pain. I cannot express how grateful and relieved I am to hear that it is involuntary! However, after searching the internet for hours I have only figured out that I am not alone, and that staying hydrated helps. What causes this? What can I do to treat it? Prevent it? I am undergoing treatment for infertility and am now terrified at the prospect of becoming pregnant. Labor can be painful... Any advice, info, suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks !
