what exactly is the definition of a vaso vagal attack?

I was just told by the doctor that the episodes that I've been having since I was a teenager are vaso vagal attacks. He was not able to give me an exact definition. After doing research online as well as reading what is posted on this discussion, I realize my symptoms are minor compared to most. I'm just anxious to have a clearer picture about what it is that I have. Thanks.
