Leg cramping can occur from running, hiking, bicycling etc, especially if you do not stretch before and after, and have insufficient potassium. Try grabbing your toes and stretching out the cramp when it happens.
The severe pain from cramping can cause the V-V reaction. Lie down on the floor, raise your legs to prevent pooling of blood in your legs, get something cold on your neck.
