Hi, my daughter has had vasovagal syncope since she was one year's old. She had a pacemaker but in and has no limitations. Doctors at first all thought I was crazy. She was in Miami Children's Hospital for one month. Her episodes started at 6 months when she started teething. She would black out, eyes would roll back. By the time she was diagnosed at a year, she was having up to 4 episodes a day, and up to 16 a week. Any time she reached a degree of being tired, or experience pain, she would go to cry, nothing came out, have a seizure and revive herself. It turned out her heart stopping caused her seizures. Her heart was stopping up to 24 seconds. She has an extreme case, and medication didn't work with her. She is now 13 and doing pretty well. There is more info. I can give to you if you would like. I have abstracts of articles, etc. about it. Of course there are all different variations and I am not a doctor. I just educated myself on her condition. I can be reached at msaesp@bellsouth.net.
