a tilt test is when you are attached to a bed which is moved from lying to standing position, in an attempt to provoke a faint.

i have been fainting since i was 13, apparently suffering from malignant vasavagal syncope ...am awaiting tilt tests etc.. i manage to abort a faint at least once or twice a day, and actually pass out about once a week or fortnight. I have found, personnally, that the best way to abort a faint is to lie on the ground on your back and put your legs up(against a wall is the most comfortable). you must not stand up before you feel the time is right, or you might well faint again-i have found. the trick to living with fainting is trying to work out the signs....i know now when i am going to faint, just from feeling the differences in atmosphere around me (such as smell, and hearing etc.) once you know wwhat you are looking for, the constant fainting becomes bearable and you can live an almost totally normal life
